You may start singing Annie Lennox's "No More I Love Yous" when you hear the findings of this recent Glamour Guy Survey. After polling 1,000 men, the survey says 50% have said those three little words by accident. While most blame it on the alcohol, the sex, or a simple slip of the tongue, relationship expert Dr. Bonnie Eaker Weil says the worst thing you can do is press them on it.

"Sometimes these words slip out because it's how the man really feels," explains Dr. Bonnie, "but sometimes they are saying it to get what they want."

Dr. Bonnie believes that 80% of men are distancers, meaning they have issues with commitment and intimacy. On the other hand, 80% of women are pursuers who try to get at the root of what men really mean. However, if ladies press the issue, men may distance themselves even more and try to retract the "I love you."

"Unconsciously he really does love you," assures Dr. Bonnie, "they just might not know it yet, even though you know it. Don't press the issue but know that they really do love you." She also tells ladies not to be surprised if a man doesn't call for a week. Don't question him about it. Simply give him some time and then plan some platonic, rather than romantic, activities to ease back into the relationship.

"Just leave it to your imagination," says Dr. Bonnie, "know that you are loved, but your man may not know how to say it. It's how a distancer behaves - their [modus] operandi is to disconnect."
