Stumped on what to get the love of your life for Valentine’s Day? Well, the Bronx Zoo has the answer to all of your problems. It’s not adopting a dog or an animal mating adventure that they recommend for your significant other. This concept is a little more creepy and crawly than cute and cuddly.
Instead of buying flowers and jewelry, just name one of the zoo’s 58,000 Madagascar hissing cockroaches after them. There really isn’t a better way to say “I’ll love you forever,” than by naming a creature so indestructible that you can step on it seven times and throw a book on top of it withiout killing it, after your boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse.
For $10, you can name a roach and have an e-card sent to your special someone. For $25, you not only get to name a roach after the person you love most, but you also receive a hand-painted, artisanal chocolate roach. It is 100 percent luxury dark chocolate and will leave them screaming, hopefully out of excitement! If you were hoping for more than one chocolatey pest, you’re in luck. You can name a roach and receive two of them for $35!
