When you're picking an outfit to look presentable, whether it's for your profile photo or a first date, what do you usually go with? Your most comfortable jeans? Your favorite color shirt? Your most expensive outfit? Hopefully you are putting some thought into it because women say that clothing is a top dating deal breaker. 

British laundry detergent brand Ariel surveyed 2,000 men and women to determine how important fashion really is in the dating world. 

It's not too surprising that ladies were the more pickier of the sexes, with 28% saying they've declined a date because they didn't like their clothes, compared to 14% of men. 

The study also revealed that 58% of the respondents overall consider clothing to be the primary factor when looking for a partner, while 43% have demanded that their partner change their clothes because they were embarrassed to be seen with them.

When it comes to colors, 36% of women said they would be more likely to accept a date from a man wearing purple! Black was also a popular choice. The worst colors for men to wear according to survey results are pink and blue.

Men, how many purple shirts do you own? Would you consider adding the color to your wardrobe? While you don't have to go full on Prince or Willy Wonka style, perhaps sprinkle in a little purple here and there.
