There’s a huge difference in the way that men and women communicate. Women are sensitive and considerate and men are typically direct. While women are typically better communicators they don’t always say what they mean. This is where things start to get complicated, fights happen and feelings get hurt.
Dating coach Evan Marc Katz said it bluntly in a recent blog post, “Men say what they mean. Women don’t.” This truth causes issues because women are usually caught off guard when men are so straight forward. When women ask questions comparing themselves to some of Hollywood’s most attractive females or go fishing for reassurance and compliments in a place that’s a total stretch, what are they looking for?
Well, to put it bluntly, they are looking for a lie. Women say they want an honest man, but get flustered when they are given the truth. It’s either going to be one way or the other. Know when you’re being extreme. Asking the guy you’re married to or dating if you look better than Angelina Jolie is a little crazy. Be secure in yourself and understand that just because his honesty is harsh, doesn’t mean you are less significant to him. A lot of guys just lack that sensitivity filter. Know it, accept it, understand it and most importantly, don’t take it personally!
