Whether you're preparing to take some new profile pics or you're heading out for a date, deciding what to wear can be a major challenge. Ladies tend to fall back on the "little black dress" but dating experts say wearing black just makes you blend in. In fact, both men and women can benefit from wearing bold colors.
So which colors do you choose? First, do a little research on skin tones to determine if yours is cool or warm. Cool skin tones look best in blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, and blue-based reds. Warm skin tones work well yellows, oranges, yellowish-greens, and orange-based reds.
Studies have been done that say red is a color that both men and women are attracted to. While you don't have to dress in red from head to toe, try at least one article of clothing in this color and see what happens!
"It's only recently that psychologists and researchers in other disciplines have been looking closely and systematically at the relationship between color and behavior. Much is known about color physics and color physiology, but very little about color psychology," said Andrew Elliot, psychology professor at The University of Rochester. "It's fascinating to find that something as ubiquitous as color can be having an effect on our behavior without our awareness."
Step out of that black, navy blue, or grey comfort zone and add a few brighter pieces of clothes to your closet! They will make you look more approachable and fun!
