LGBT couples face many of the same relationship issues that all couples encounter. However, when marriage comes into the mix, the brides or grooms-to-be can benefit from advice and information geared specifically to them.
Premarital Counseling for Gays & Lesbians is a new book from therapist Pamela Milam that highlights the importance of asking questions, exploring viewpoints, and making interesting discoveries prior to getting married.
"Marriage and lifelong commitment are meaningful, and gay couples know that," Milam says. "There is a growing need for premarital tools, advice, and information customized for people who are in same-sex relationships."

Launched on February 1st, the "first of its kind" LGBT 2012 Census is seeking participation from residents of 14 English-speaking countries. Founder Terrance Luckett of Atlanta, Georgia hopes the survey will provide greater clarity to the current state of the LGBT community.
"The LGBT 2012 Census is a highly ambitious initiative to collect over one million voices," said Luckett. "The participation helps build a city personality profile, not only based on facts, but also on experiences which is incredibly important for creating a better, stronger and united community."
Perodic snapshots of incoming data are already being analyzed and dating and relationships are trending topics.
