Rather than actively searching for a potential match, many singles wait for the perfect man or woman to magically appear and whisk them away to a life of romantic bliss. Needless to say, this is a big mistake and not a realistic way to find The One.

When signing up for online dating sites, people usually have the option of using real names or user names. Whether meaning to be malicious or not, some use the names and details of celebrities, friends, and even exes. This can be considered online impersonation or harassment and some states consider it a felony.
"It usually happens when a relationship ends ... [when] someone is seeking revenge,” says Laura Martin of the Dallas police. Texas is one state that recently implemented the new Internet Harassment law that makes it a felony to impersonate, imitate or otherwise harass others in emails, instant messaging programs and commercial social networking sites.
