Singles naturally want to choose flattering pics for their dating profile. However, in an effort to put their best face forward many people select photos that are far from current. Not a good idea, says relationship author Tamsen Butler.
"Remember that the goal is to eventually meet someone in person, so if you only place pictures of your ‘skinny days' on your profile, you're eventually going to wind up looking deceitful," Butler said in an interview with Jezebel.com.

When you go on a first date, conversation can sometimes be a struggle. We’ve all been there. You’re stuck in an hour-long (2-second) pause, frantically scouring your brain for something – ANYTHING – to say. What are some things you should avoid talking about on first dates, though? There’s the obvious “no talking about your ex” that everyone already subscribes to (or at least tries to) – but what are some other mood-killers? Well, here are a few.
Talking about hating your job is really awkward. When your date listens to you drabble on about how unhappy you are in your profession, what are they supposed to do? Respond with a half-hearted “That sucks?” Commiserate with tales of their own boring job? No matter how you look at it, talking about your career discontentment is not going to score any points. At best, your date thinks you really do have a crummy job – at worst, they think you’re a whiner. And most often, it’s the latter.
