Tune in to HBO on February 14th to see how five people's lives have been transformed in unexpected ways by online encounters. When Strangers Click: Five Stories From the Internet is a new documentary about "the way we woo in a wired world".
Directed by Robert Kenner, known for his Oscar-nominated documentary Food Inc., the film challenges the assumption that online dating is shallower than in-the-flesh courting.
While profiling five men and women in their search, the project also incorporates footage shot by two of the singles themselves.
Viewers will meet Kim, "who packed a wedding dress and flew to Prague to marry a man she had never spoken to", as well as Dave, "who met scores of women before having to reveal a physical shortcoming".
There's also Beth, "who nearly gave up on love before going online at age 30".

For generations we have known that certain smells can act as aphrodisiacs. It's an area of curiosity with multiple studies conducted on the topic. Dr. Alan Hirsch, director at the Smell & Taste Treatment Research Foundation, as conducted many of these studies himself.
One study he conducted determined that men are more aroused by the smell of lavender, pumpkin pie and licorice. Oddly enough floral fragrances do not arouse men much at all.
So if there are scents that turn on men it’s a safe bet to say that women are also excited by scent as well. Just as men are not particularly attracted to a woman’s perfume neither are women attracted to a man’s cologne.
Hirsch conducted another study to see what scents women find most appealing. He looked at women in 10 major cities. His findings suggested that American woman are attracted to some unusual scents and that what attracts them varies by region.

If you believe in love at first sight, chances are you will experience it.
The book “Love at First Sight: The Stories and Science Behind Instant Attraction” written by Earl Naumann is based on quantifiable research and in depth interviews with 1,500 people. The results may be surprising.
The study showed that love at first sight, defined as feeling strange and powerful feelings for someone within an hour of meeting that person, only happens to those that believe in it. Nearly two thirds of Americans believe in love at first sight, with more than half of them having experienced it. Fifty five percent of them married that person, while seventy five percent of those who married as a result of love at first sight have stayed married. That statistic is a huge improvement over average rates of divorce.
In another study it was determined that the brain may be as involved in the process of “falling in love” as the heart.

Men’s Health, a popular magazine for the gents, recently surveyed 1,400 women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s to learn what women want from a partner and life and how these desires change with age. Here’s what they learned. Click here to see the entire survey.
Women in Their 20s
According to Nina K. Thomas, Ph.D., a psychologist based in New York City, women in their 20s have three priorities: a career, a personal identity, and a relationship. Socializing is also very important to young women and the ladies are drawn to adventure and excitement.
When it comes to qualities twenty-something women seek in a long-term partner, kindness topped the list. Quality communication is also important to young women. The ladies want to talk to their partners and be able to share the triumphs and disappointments of day-to-day living. The gals want a partner who will truly listen to what they have to say and actively participate in a conversation. Compassion is also an important quality as are men who value friendship, both a woman’s and his own.
